As part of government policy, all children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 will be provided with a free school meal. For children in nursery and in year 3 to 6, school meals cost £2.60 payable via MCAS (My Child At School). If you wish to change from packed lunch to school dinners (or vice versa) please email the school office via info@danetreeschool.org. One school week’s notice must be given for this change to take place. A charge will be made if no notice is received and a lunch was ordered for your child. Please note that school meals must be paid for in advance.
If you prefer your child to have a packed lunch, we ask that you support us in encouraging healthy eating habits and do not include fizzy drinks, squash, sweets or chocolate bars and no glass bottles. Please remember that we endeavour to be a nut free school in order to ensure the safety of children with nut allergies. Please check packaging for ingredients and do not send nuts or food containing nuts to school, for example pesto, nutty cereal bars, peanut butter or chocolate spread.
As packed lunches are not refrigerated and are kept on trolleys in the corridor we ask that you use an insulated lunchbox.
