GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

How we support children at Danetree Primary School:

We hope that the following documents will provide you with an outline of the additional support available at Danetree Primary School. If you would like further information or have any questions with regards to SEN provision please contact Miss D Prosser (SENDCo) - send@danetreeschool.org.

What are special educational needs?

A child has special educational needs (SEN) if they require provision to be made which is ‘additional to or different from’ that provided for the majority.

At Danetree Primary School, we recognise our duties, as stated in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice. The Code of Practice provides statutory guidance on duties, policies and procedures relating to Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated regulations. It relates to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabled children and young people.

Aims:

  • We will ensure that all pupils with special educational needs have full and equal access to the curriculum and all aspects of school life
  • The school will endeavour, through appropriate use of funding, staffing and professional expertise, to meet the needs of all our children
  • The school will provide a curriculum which is appropriate and matched to individual needs and learning styles

As part of the National Special Educational Needs Reform,  local authorities are required to publish a ‘local offer’ which is intended to provide information about provision available to children with special educational needs in the local area. At Danetree Primary School we are proud of our inclusive practice and what we can offer to all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
